Volkswagen Polo Comfortline TSI Automatic Launched At ₹8.51 Lakhs

Volkswagen has added an automatic option to its Comfortline variant which makes it the most budget-friendly automatic in the segment.

Volkswagen Polo, a hatchback that has been a prominent one when it comes to performance. Now, to make automatic more comfortable, Volkswagen has launched a TSI Automatic version in the Comfortline variant of the car. This makes it possible for VW to offer Polo Automatic at ₹8.51lakhs which was earlier only offered from the Highline Plus variant onwards that was around ₹1 lakh costlier.

You will get a total of 3 options in the Comfortline now. A 1.0-litre MPI with a manual transmission, 1.0-litre TSI with a manual transmission and 1.0-litre TSI with AT. Do note that Comfortline is one variant above the base variant, Trendline and is the mid-spec variant.

Volkswagen Comfortline TSI Automatic: What will you get?

You will be getting a 1.0-litre TSI engine under the hood capable of producing 110ps of power and a peak torque of 175Nm. VW claims a mileage of 18.24kmpl with this engine. It will be mated to a 6-speed AT gearbox.

Along with this, you get a good list of features. You will get Auto-Climatronic AC, Exclusive Blaupunkt music system, 17.7cms touchscreen system, built-in Bluetooth, and much more. As for safety, VW Polo is one of the safest cars in India and offers dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, rear defogger fog lamps at front and rear, auto-dimming rearview mirror etc. You will still have to go for a higher variant if you want features like Apple Carplay, Android Auto, steering mounted controls, ESP and Hill Hold Assist.

VW Polo Rivals

You must note that Polo rivals Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz iTurbo and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios currently. Tata Altroz iTurbo has no automatic at offer. Grand i10 Nios offers AMT with the NA engine while no automatic with the turbo engine. As for the Hyundai i20, it does have an IVT with 1.2-litre Kappa and a DCT with a 1.0-litre turbo. But the prices for IVT and DCT variants start at ₹8,69,100 and ₹10,68,100 respectively. This makes VW Polo Comfortline the most budget-friendly turbo-charged automatic car in the segment. Also, if you were to buy the variant this month, you will have to pay only ₹8,34,000 (The offer price for this month).
