Tata Motors has launched the Tiago NRG, the Urban Toughroader. The NRG 2021 edition of Tiago has already reached the dealerships. Without further ado, let’s take a look at what all the SUV-ish hatchback has to offer.
Tata Tiago NRG: Engine and Transmission Options
Tiago NRG gets the same engine options as that of the basic Tiago. It gets a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder Revtron petrol engine capable of producing 86ps of power and 113Nm of torque. You get both, 5-speed manual as well as 5-speed AMT paired with this engine.
Are there any changes in dimensions?
Tiago NRG looks taller giving it an SUV-ish look. It actually has an extra 11mm of ground clearance and 37mm extra length when compared to the basic Tiago. The body cladding also adds to the SUV stance that the company has tried to add to the Tiago NRG. It gets 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
What’s new with the features?
Tata Tiago NRG is as loaded as the top-spec Tiago. It comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with an 8-speaker Harman Kardan setup. You will get smartphone connectivity as Tiago NRG has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
You will also get features like a push start/stop button, keyless entry, steering-mounted controls, power windows, power-folding wing mirrors, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.
2021 Tata Tiago NRG has a 4-star rating at the Global NCAP crash test making it the safest hatchback in the segment. It gets ABS with EBD, dual-front airbags, reverse parking sensors and camera, cornering stability control, follow-me-home lamps, day-night rear-view mirror, and much more.
Tiago NRG is being offered in four color options: Foresta Green, Snow White, Cloudy Red, and Fire Red.
Price and rivals
You will have to spend ₹6.57 lakhs for the manual variant and ₹7.09 lakh for the automatic variant (Prices, ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Hyundai Santro, and Datsun Go.
