Do you remember the Tata Tiago JTP? Yes, the car launched to rival the likes of the market-dominating Volkswagen Polo and the first made-in-India car, focused on pushing pure power. However, it was expected to do wonders but sadly, it couldn’t stand the might of the already-ruling Volkswagen Polo and succumbed within a year of its launch due to low sales.
This is what triggered Tata to work more rigorously on making something more reliable, powerful, safer, and feature-loaded, which came in the form of the Tata Altroz i-Turbo. However, the I-turbo had the same fate as the Tiago JTP and the i-turbo. But it seems Tata has vowed not to lose hope, and yet again, Tata Motors is all set to launch the all-new Tata Altrox racer-edition.
So without wasting any more time, let’s have a look at what do we get to see on the Tata Altroz Racer edition.
- The all-new Tata Altroz Racer edition is set to take on the likes of the already-existing premium hatchback segment rivals like the Hyundai i20 N-line and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo.
- The racer edition will have the same dimensions as the regular Altroz, compared to its rivals, the Altroz seems to be on the shorter front.
- Although it will come equipped with 16-inch wheels.
- A major highlight on the Altroz Racer Edition is its 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine which pushes out 120bhp with a peak torque of 170 NM while mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
- Now, coming to the cosmetic changes, The Altroz racer edition will come with a dual-tone colour scheme alongside its blacked-out mirrors, roof, and bonnet.
- We also get to see white racing stripes on the bonnet, along with the Altroz Racer badging.
- Moving towards the rear, we will get to see a brand-new spoiler highlighting the overall aesthetics of the upcoming Hyundai i20 N-line rival.
- Stepping on the inside, it seems that Tata has chosen to go with its revised design language, as seen on the updated Tata Harrier and the Nexon. We get to see the same features as the 10.25-inch infotainment display, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, HUD (heads-up display) and an all-black theme that is complimented by red accents.
- Prices for this upcoming Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo rival are yet to be revealed. However, leading media reports suggest that it will range between Rs8-11 lakhs (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
