MG Gloster Facelift to Launch in 2025

Maxxus D90

Chinese-owned British carmaker MG is all set to upgrade its product lineup in India. Since its entry in India MG has been able to make a name for itself in a short span. It all started with the MG Hector and within 5 yrs of its entry in India MG has expanded its product lineup from a single SUV to 4 sizzling cars from different segments. One of them is the MG Gloster which was also India’s first full-size SUV and came with Level-1 ADAS.

However, with its launch, MG expected the Gloster to do wonders, but sadly, it did not perform as per expectations. With its facelift, MG now expects to see some changes and hopes that people might accept the Gloster. For those who still don’t know about the Gloster, it also happens to be a head-on competitor to the Toyota Fortuner and offers many features that the Fortuner lacks at almost the same price.

Now looking at the rendered images of the Gloster facelift, it is pretty clear that MG is ready to take on its rival with full force.

MG Gloster Facelift
  • This mid-cycle update of the MG Gloster will be based on the Maxus D90 which is already on sale in International markets.
  • The Indian spec will be a mere rebadged version of the D90 and will be introduced with the same design and feature specifications.
  • However, we might see fewer features on the Indian version compared to its international-spec variant.
  • As seen in the image, the Indian spec MG Gloster will come with a completely new look, as it will sport a brand new fascia, spilt LED headlamp setup ( similar to that of the recently launched Hyundai Creta), pronounced wheel arches, and a more old and rugged cladding.
Maxus D90
  • Moving towards the rear, it will feature the exact split-LED taillamp setup but this time it will also have a connecting light band and a completely reprofiled rear bumper.
  • We might as well see a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. However, instead of the rugged black cladding, we might see a lot of chrome usage on the Indian spec MG Gloster.
MG Gloster Facelift Interior
  • We will also see a completely redesigned interior with a larger infotainment system, redesigned AC vents and a brand-new centre console.
  • Its power specifications expect it to offer the same 2.0-litre diesel engine with both 4×2 and 4×4 drive configurations.
