Chinese owned British car manufacturer MG is gearing up to launch yet another product for the Indian auto market. Well, yes, you read that correctly, just after 6 months of launching the facelifted version of the MG Hector, MG Motors India is ready to introduce the MG cloud ev electric HatchUV to the Indian market.
Its seems that MG is now focusing on building its electric vehicle portfolio. Currently MG has only 2 electric cars in its India portfolio, namely, MG ZS EV and the MG Comet. The latest edition is expected to be called the MG Cloud EV which is expected to lock its horns with the Tata Nexon EV and the Mahindra XUV400.
However, just like the MG Comet, the cloud will also be a rebadged version of Baojun Yundua sold in China and the Wuling Air sold in Indonesia by its parent company SAIC. Much recently a MG cloud EV was also spotted testing on Indian roads which also indicated its nearing launch. So without any further ado lets get into the specifications of the MG Cloud EV.
- Leading media reports suggest that the cloud ev is expected to be priced under INR 20 lakhs in India.
- The new electrified sub compact SUV will measure about 4.3 meters in length while supporting a wheelbase of 2,700mm.
- Although it is shaped in the form of an MPV, but can only seat 5 people with 2 rows of seating.
- Its seems that the Cloud EV can be considered as cross between a large hatchback and a small size MPV.
- On the design front, it gets the most minimalistic design elements in the form of flush door handles, a very clean surfacing and a full-width LED light bar both in the front and the rear.
- On the Inside, the dashboard comes fitted with the large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, front and rear armrest, a new in segment 135-degree backseat recline and a level-2 ADAS suite.
Whats under the hood?
- In the overseas variant the MG Cloud EV comes equipped with a 37.9kWh and a 50.6kWh, with 360km and 460km range, respectively.
- It is also powered by a front-axle mounted, permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces 134hp.
