In a new, a Mahindra Thar owner has been arrested and fined ₹35,000 for jump-scaring people on the road. This incident took place in Noida, where the accused was found making a video jump-scaring people on the road just to garner some views on the internet. The video shows that the vehicle was being driven without a number plate and also supported all-black windows.
The video was shared on Reddit, however, the original creator of the is still on the loose, while the driver was arrested and fined by the authorities. What’s more shocking thing is that despite having a legalised number plate, the Mahindra Thar, has a plate that displays the word ‘Gurjar’ which also happens to be one of the most popular and well-versed communities in India.
Soon after the video was uploaded to the social media platform, it kind of went viral, a user shared the same video on another SM platform, X (formerly Twitter), tagging all the concerned authorities and demanding strict action against the accused. Acting immediately, Noida police replied that an investigation was being done and soon cracked down on the accused and the vehicle and issued a total fine of Rs 35,000.
As per Noida police, The owner of the Mahindra Thar has been charged with:
- Violation of RS 39/192 MV Act
- Dangerous Driving 184 MV Act
- Violation of traffic rules by the driver except the offences mentioned in Section 184 a, b, d, e, f, and without any indication of changing the alignment (MV Act 1988 S 119 R/W S 177 mentioned in Section 184 a, b, d, e, f)
- Driving a vehicle in contravention of Section 3 or Section 4
- Disobedience of any lawful direction given by the authority (MV Act 1988 S 179 (1)
- Violation of prescribed standards about air pollution (Section 1988 MV Act).
