Well, it seems that to keep up with the trend Korean auto giant Hyundai is set to launch its very first micro SUV, The Hyundai Casper in India. This news comes after the Korean car maker has finally trademarked the name ‘Casper’ in India.

With its launch, we can expect the Casper to be placed below the Hyundai Exter due to its much smaller dimensions. It is also being speculated that the Hyundai Casper will replace the Hyundai Santro and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios in the near future.

In terms of looks, it expels a tallboy hatchback appearance with a compact SUV styling.
Just like the Exter, Casper is also based on Hyundai’s revised design language with the LED DRLs placed on top and its headlight unit integrated into the bumpers.
It will also come with roof rails which gives it a much taller stance and a premium look.
The door handles get positioned on the C-pillars, reflecting the likes of the previous gen Maruti Suzuki Swift.
On the inside, the Hyundai Casper might get a rather funky look with a two-spoke steering wheel taken from the latest-gen Hyundai Verna, a floating infotainment system, a dashboard-mounted gear lever, and an all-digital instrument cluster.
Under the hood, the Casper might have a 1.0-litre NA MPI petrol engine pushing 85BHP.
We might as well see a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 99BHP.
Both engine options will get a 5-speed manual and AMT transmission options.

Talking about rivals, it will lock its horns with the Tata Punch, Renault kwid, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, and others.
