Hyundai has finally launched the much-awaited 6/7 seater SUV, the Alcazar. The starting price for this Tata Safari rival is ₹16,30,300. Without further ado, let’s take a look at what all does Alcazar has on offer.

Hyundai ALCAZAR Engine Options

You will be getting two engine options with the Alcazar: Nu 2.0-litre MPI petrol and 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine. The Nu 2.0-litre petrol churns out 159ps of power and a peak torque of 191.2Nm. Hyundai claims a fuel efficiency of 14.5kmpl with this engine, which is the best-in-segment. 

The 1.5-litre diesel engine is capable of producing 115ps of power and a peak torque of 250Nm. It has a fuel mileage of 20.4kmpl which again is the best-in-segment. Do note that Hyundai has managed to bring down the maintenance cost of the diesel engine by removing SCR or Selective Catalytic Reduction with its advanced in-house technology. Both its rivals, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari have SCR. 

Both the engines are offered with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Well, this is where things are going to get pretty spacious and interesting as Hyundai Alcazar gets the best-in-segment wheelbase of 2,760mm. It will be 4500mm long, 1790mm wide and 1675mm in height. You are going to get very good legroom with a decent amount of headroom and shoulder room. 

What does the 6/7-seater SUV offer in terms of features?

One should not worry when Hyundai is the brand in talks. Alcazar is no exception. It comes with a variety of first-in-segment features such as a 10.25-inch multi-display digital cluster, blind-view mirror, 2nd-row wireless charging, Bose premium surround system, puddle lamps with Hyundai logo projection, front-row seatback table, front row sliding sun visor, rear window sunshade and auto healthy air purifier with AQI display.

Other features include 64 colours ambient lighting, 2nd-row tip and tumble captain and split seats, voice-enabled smart panoramic sunroof, drive mode select and traction control modes, advanced BlueLink, 8-way adjustable power driver seat and the touchscreen infotainment system. 

Hyundai Alcazar is coming loaded with safety features, right from the base variant. The list of standard features include:

The starting price for Alcazar has been kept at ₹16,30,300 which is costlier than its rivals. The diesel variants however are priced pretty decent with a difference of 15,000 to 20,000 as compared to the petrol ones.

It will rival Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus in the current market. Should you go for the Alcazar? Well, definitely yes, it gets all the bells and whistles on would look for. You are getting a load of features, safety and really good and capable engine options. It has got the looks too, though this point is totally subjective.
