Royal Enfield Recalls Classic, Meteor 350 & Bullet

The cult bikemaker, Royal Enfield is going to recall 2.37lakhs of Classic, Bullet and Meteor 350 to replace the faulty ignition coil. According to Royal Enfield, they discovered the defect while routine internal testing.

Which models have Royal Enfield recalled?

RE has recalled bikes manufactured between December 2020 to April 2021. You can expect a call from the dealer regarding your bike if purchased between the given interval. You can also connect with Royal Enfield’s helpline number: 1800 210 007 to know whether your bike is under the recall list or not. Keep your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) handy.

Has RE recalled bikes in India only?

Royal Enfield is going to recall bikes sold in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand and Thailand. Do note that RE expects less than 10% of the total 2,36,966 units recalled to have the defect.

What issue can be there in your bike if it has the said faulty ignition coil?

You might experience misfiring, reduction in performance and there can be a possible electric short circuit. This is why, if you have purchased your bike in the given period or the bike was manufactured between December 2020 to April 2021, get your VIN checked.
