The much-awaited Maruti Suzuki Baleno 2022 is now around the corner. Nexa dealerships have begun accepting bookings for the upcoming Baleno. Nexa dealers are excited about the launch as it has been a long time for something new in Nexa. The last launch was of the 2020 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. Production of the new Baleno has already commenced in the Gujrat plant and the launch can be expected around mid-February. Let’s see what we know so far about the upcoming hatchback.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno: To be a lot safer!
Maruti Suzuki has not been a synonym for safety for a long time now. But, Baleno seems to be a game-changer for Maruti in the safety department. First, the company is planning to use thicker and stronger materials to make the Baleno safer for the roads. You can expect the Baleno to get safety features like:
- Six airbags (reserved for the top variants)
- ESP (Electronic Stability Program)
- ABS with EBD
- hill hold assist, and much more.
It can be safe to say that the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno might be the safest car from the carmaker.
What can we expect under the hood?
You won’t be getting any updates in terms of the powertrain. We expect the Baleno to come with the same engine options. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 83ps and the same engine with 12V mild-hybrid tech produces 90ps. You will be getting the manual transmission as standard. The current generation Baleno gets a CVT. As per some reports, we might be getting an AMT instead of the CVT with this update.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Going to get bolder styling!
The major update you’ll be getting is the styling. Maruti Suzuki has gone all bonkers and all the panels you see on the current-gen are being replaced by new designs for sure. At the front, you’ll be getting L-shaped LED headlamps along with LED DRLs. The front fascia is sleeker and bolder this time around. At the rear, you’ll get to see a redesigned tailgate and new LED taillamps extending all the way to the tailgate and the new bumper.
What’s new inside?
It’s not just the exterior that has been heavily updated. You’ll get to see a whole new dashboard with free-standing infotainment at the center. You will get a new infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. You will also get the HUD or the Heads-Up Display in the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Price and Rivals
We expect Maruti Suzuki to price the new updated Baleno around Rs. 6,00,000 for the base variant. It might come a bit more premium than the outgoing model because of the added features and safety. The new Baleno will be locking horns with the outgoing Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20.
