Finally, Volkswagen has launched its most awaited SUV, Taigun in India. The base variant starts at ₹10.50 Lakhs. There are two different variant lines for the new Volkswagen Taigun, one is Dynamic Line and the other line is Performance Line. Three trims are there in Dynamic Line i.e. Comfortable, Highline, and Topline. On the other hand, there are two trims in Performance Line i.e. GT and GT Plus. This new SUV comes in four options for engine-gearbox combinations.
What Volkswagen Taigun offers in terms of features?
Volkswagen Taigun’s top model GT Plus features a 10-inch infotainment system combined with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Volkswagen’s own connect app is also there to interact with the car wirelessly. There are some amazing features as well such as:

Moving on to warranty, Volkswagen is offering a 4-year/1,00,000 km standard warranty for Taigun and the buyers can also extend it to 7-year/1,50,000 km. The automaker will also provide buyers with service value packages on offer. These packages are:

Let’s move on to Interior and Exterior
Talking about the front, Taigun features DRLs and large LED headlights, chrome inserts on the lower bumper, and a two-slat chrome grille. Moving on to the rear, the lower bumper area also gets chrome inserts and the whole tailgate gets the tail-light cluster running throughout.
There are five color options to choose from i.e. Curcuma Yellow, Wild Cherry Red, Carbon Steel Grey, Reflex Silver, and Candy White.
You’re waiting for the interior right? So, here we go. There’s a minimalist theme applied to Taigun’s interior while the switchgear is somewhat similar to Skoda Kushaq. A unique design is there for AC vents and the dashboard has the infotainment screen integrated with it. The dashboard also features some significantly visible trim elements.
What can we expect in terms of performance from Volkswagen Taigun?
There are two TSI engine options to choose from with Volkswagen Taigun. One is a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine. It is capable of producing 175 Nm torque and power of 115hp. On the other hand, there’s a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine capable of producing 250Nm torque and power of 150hp. Both these engines come with 6-speed manual transmission.
Looking upon, automatic options, they are a bit different from the manual transmission options. There’s a 6-speed torque converter engine combined with a 1.0 TSI engine while a 1.5 TSI gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. There’s an exclusive fuel-saving deactivation technology that comes with only 1.5 TSI engine options.
Volkswagen Taigun: Variant-Wise Price and Rivals
Volkswagen Taigun is set to take other mid-size SUVs in the market such as Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, and Hyundai Creta. The large size segment will also compete with Taigun. These include MG Hector and Tata Harrier.
