It’s the season of EVs, All major Indian carmakers are working tirelessly on expanding their EV line. Be it Hyundai with the Ioniq 5 and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV or Tata which already has 2 hot selling EVs in its portfolio, The Tata Nexon EV and the Tiago EV but now Tata seems to be gearing up to introduce 2 new electric SUV in the form of the Harrier and the Safari EVs. The Harrier EV has been spotted quite a few times being tested on Indian roads, but this will be the very first time the Safari EV has been spotted being tested on Indian roads ahead of its rumoured launch scheduled for the upcoming festive season.

  • The Safari and the Harrier twins will be based on Tata’s brand-new Acti.ev platform.
  • Taking a brief look at the spy shot, it is very difficult to make out any visual changes as the test mule had been heavily camouflaged.
  • However, one major update that was merely visible was the flush door handles inspired by the Mahindra XUV700 to make their debut with the Harrier and Safari Twins.
  • Other than that, every inch of the upcoming Tata Safari EV looks similar to its ICE cousin.
  • However, on the EV, the fuel spot will be replaced by a charging port socket.
  • Stepping inside, We can expect to see an identical cabin such as its ICE cousin. However, there will be a few minor updates that will suit the electrification of the SUV.
  • The feature list will have some common features like a 12-inch infotainment screen, ventilated seats, Level-2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and some other features as well.

  • On the mechanical front, it will sport a single and dual motor setup mated with FWD, RWD and AWD configurations.
  • With its launch, it is expected to rival the likes of the upcoming Mahindra XUV700, the Hyundai Creta EV, and the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
