Tata Harrier Petrol and Harrier EV 2025 Launch Confimed?

It seems that Tata is all set to do the inevitable, We’ve all seen the Harrier and the Safari being offered in a single-fuel format. But now things are about to change, or we can also say that Tata has finally come to its senses and is preparing to introduce the Harrier in petrol. Not only that, along with the petrol variant, Tata will also introduce the electric version of the Harrier.

  • Currently, the Tata Harrier comes with a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, accompanied by a 6-speed manual and a torque converter automatic transmission.
  • With these current specifications, the Tata Harrier puts out 173bhp and 350Nm of torque.
  • With its launch, the Tata Harrier Petrol will take on its current active rival Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector etc.

This decision to finally introduce the petrol variant of the Harrier is being taken to boost the sales number and to increase the brand’s SUV model lineup in India. The Tata Harrier petrol is expected to come with a 1.5L turbo direct injection engine pushing 170ps with a peak torque of 280NM. The same mechanical specification will be seen on the Tata Curvv, which is expected to launch during the festive season of this year.

Moreover, Tata is also planning to introduce the electrified version of the Harrier in early 2025. A lot of close-to-production spec models of the Tata Harrier EV have been spotted testing multiple times, indicating it is in the final stages of production.

  • The Tata Harrier EV is expected to offer multiple battery pack options along with three drivetrain setups- FWD, RWD, and 4WD.
  • We can also expect to see vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging capabilities.
  • It will be based on the Acti.EV architecture and will also make use of the 400-volt permanent magnet synchronous motors and induction motors in the future.
