Royal Enfield has registered a new trademark under the name of ‘Royal Enfield Scram’ on 20th May 2021. There were rumours that RE is planning to expand its portfolio into the 650cc segment with a scrambler. So can the RE Scram be a 650cc Scrambler we are all waiting for? Although, Scram is not the name we were expecting, but hey, what’s in a name? Let’s find out.
Currently, Royal Enfield has Continental GT650 and Interceptor 650 in the segment of 650cc’s. We can expect this scrambler to be affordable as RE has aggressive plans to increase its customer’s base.
We can expect that the Scram will have RE’s 648cc parallel-twin cylinder engine that produces 47hp of power @7,150rpm and 52Nm torque @5,250rpm.
RE has said that it will launch a new bike every quarter for the next 7 years which totals 28 motorcycles. Will you buy this Royal Enfield Scram if launched? Do let us know in the comments section below. We also know that RE is working on a 650cc cruiser and a roadster in the same family. Also, stay tuned as we’ll soon explore the history of the cult motorcycle maker.
