Mahindra XUV700 has finally made a global debut. Although we wished that Mahindra would have revealed the prices too, still, we know a good deal about the upcoming SUV. Without wasting any time, let’s take a look at what we got to know from the broadcast.
Mahindra XUV700: Engine and transmission options
To make you feel the rush, Mahindra has given the XUV700 the most powerful engines in its class. It gets a turbocharged mHawk diesel engine that churns out 185ps of power and 420Nm of torque with manual transmission and 450Nm with the automatic. The turbocharged mStallion gasoline engine is capable of producing 200ps of power and a peak torque of 380Nm. We can expect a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed automatic with both the engines options. Mahindra claims that the XUV700 can go from 0 to 60kmph in just 4.6 seconds, again best-in-class though it has not been clarified whether the figures are for the diesel or the petrol variant. We can expect this performance from the diesel engine.
Mahindra XUV700 will have an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) option too for those who like to take things up by a notch. It will also be getting 3 drive modes: Zip, Zap, and Zoom.

Mahindra XUV700: Price and Rivals
Mahindra is known for pricing its SUVs aggressively. We can expect the base variant of XUV700 to start around ₹16-17lakhs and go all the way up to ₹25lakhs for the top-spec variant. If so is the case, it will rival the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar, and such cars in the budget vicinity.
Update: Mahindra has revealed the prices of XUV700. And as said, they are way more than aggressive. The base MX variant starts at just ₹11.99 lakhs! The AX3 is priced at ₹13.99 lakhs. If this is the case, we can expect the fully loaded variant to come at less than ₹20 lakhs.
Although the debut has left us wondering with more questions, XUV700 surely is an SUV that will give you an adrenaline rush every time you are in the driver’s seat. More details will follow in the coming days. Stay tuned to Auto-Dive India to never miss any updates.
