A few days ago, reports stated that Mahindra is going to axe Marazzo and KUV100 from their lineup. The low sales figures were credited behind the decision. But as per Car and Bike, Mahindra has no such plans. According to Mahindra, Marazzo and KUV100 are an integral part of the company’s portfolio in India.
So, what’s the plan ahead with Mahindra Marazzo ahead?
Mahindra is planning to add more convenience to the MPV by adding an AMT gearbox. We can soon expect Marazzo to have an AMT gearbox which Mahindra likes to call AutoShift Technology. Under the hood, Marazzo gets a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine capable of producing 123ps of power and a peak torque of 300Nm. Currently, you get a 6-speed manual transmission option only. Will adding an AMT to this MPV make it any better? Do let us know in the comments section below.
Mahindra KUV100, will it be axed though?
No, Mahindra has stated that the sub-compact SUV has good sales globally. The export numbers are increasing and the company has no plans to axe KUV100 too. You can also expect a launch of an electric version of KUV100, one that was seen at the Auto Expo 2020.
It was tough to hear that these models were being discontinued, the news of that news not being true has surely made Mahindra car lovers happy. Are you one of them? Let’s have a virtual meetup in the comments section below!
