It’s that time of the year again when carmakers are working rigorously on updating their current line-up for the Indian. It started off with Maruti and Mahindra, who recently launched 2 new products, The Swift and the XUV 3XO and now Korean auto giant Kia has also joined the race as a test module of the Kia Carens MPV was spotted testing on Indian roads.
What’s new on the Kia Carens Facelift?
- for now, only the rear end of the Carens facelift was visible and heavily camouflaged but still, we were able to make certain changes from a distance.
- Looking at the spy shots, we could say it will feature a redesigned taillamp setup with a new LED pattern as this was the only part left uncovered.
- Other expected changes include a reworked rear bumper, revised alloy wheels, a brand-new front grille, and a revised headlamp setup.
- On the mechanical front, it is expected to come with the same 1.5L NA petrol engine pushing 115hp, a 1.5L turbo petrol engine pushing 160hp and a 1.5L diesel mill averaging about 116hp.
- All these powertrain mills will come mated to a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, a 6-speed torque converter and a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
- We can also expect to see a first-in-segment ADAS safety tech.
- Talking about the pricing, the current spec ranges between Rs 10.52 lakh to Rs 19.67 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Kia is expected to launch the Maruti Suzuki XL-6, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Innova Crysta and Toyota Rumion rival either during the upcoming festive season or by early 2025.
