India’s biggest car manufacturer, Maruti, has recently launched the latest iteration of the brand’s most-selling hatchback, the Swift. However, with its launch, many have started to raise questions about the less-than-average build quality and its overwhelming price tag, which goes up to Rs 10.49 lakh for its top model, compared to its out-going model, which is a higher end.
But, if you think that the all-new 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is not worth the buck, here is a list of 5 alternatives that could be better in terms of features, styling, durability, safety, and most importantly, suit your pocket.

Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS
This hot hatch and probably one of the biggest Swift rivals comes paired with a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine which puts out 83PS of power along with a peak torque of 114 NM which also happens to be higher than that on the new Swift facelift. The Grand i10 Nios is also offered in 14 variants, which range from petrol to CNG and have a starting price tag of Rs 5.49 lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi)
On the feature front, this bad boy offers the basics like a 7-inch infotainment display, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, steering-mounted controls, and a reverse camera, among others.

Tata Punch
Another budding rival for the Swift is the Tata PUNCH, however, it is a bit smaller in size but it surely does the job pretty well. The Tallboy micro SUV comes with a 1.2L petrol engine pushing 88bhp with a peak torque of 115 NM while mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox.
You can choose from 4 variants: Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and creative. On the feature front, you get to see a 7-inch infotainment display, automatic climate control, and cruise control. Talking about safety, we get to see a lot, as it offers dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear defoggers, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, TPMS, and ISOFIX anchors. The Tata Punch gets a starting price tag of ₹ 6.13 Lakh, and the top model price goes upto ₹ 10.20 Lakh. This surely makes it a better alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Swift, and yes, it also has a 5-star GNCAP safety rating.

Hyundai Aura
I think the name has already done its job, right? The Hyundai Aura is not only a segment above the Maruti Suzuki Swift but also costs less than the 2024 Swift. With the Hyundai Aura, you not only get a bigger segment and more space, but it also comes with the same 1.2L petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual and automatic transmission. Some time ago, it did come with a 1.0 turbo engine. However, due to lower sales numbers, that variant was discontinued. With that said, the feature list on the Hyundai Aura is similar to that of the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS.
The Hyundai Auro starts with a price tag of ₹ 6.49 Lakh, and the top model price goes upto ₹ 9.05 Lakh.

Renault Kiger
Well, if you are not a Maruti fanatic and are probably not willing to waste your money on a hatchback,. Here’s another good option to consider. The Kiger comes with a 1.0-litre pure petrol engine, which pushes out 98 bhp with a peak torque of 119 NM while connected to a 5-speed manual and an AMT transmission. The Kiger comes packed with features and holds a starting price tag of Rs 6.09 lakhs. Another good reason to buy the Kiger is that it belongs to the sub-compact segment, which means you get a car with better ground clearance and space.
