The engine is one of the big changes in this latest upgrade of Classic 350. The new variant includes a ‘J-platform’ 349cc engine. It has replaced the 346cc UCE engine in the previous models. The engine used in the new 2021 model is the same as used on the Meteor 350. But the new Classic 350 will have its exhaust layout, ignition timing, and fueling map. Due to this, SOHC two-valve head is used in place of the pushrod-valve system in the previous Classic model.

2021 RE Classic 350 can produce a torque of 27Nm and 20.3hp of power while the older model could produce a torque of 28 Nm and 19.1hp of power. The changes made to the new model are to reduce the vibrations and increase usable torque in the bike. It features the same 5-speed transmission as earlier.
