Recently, MG has revealed its all-new Astor at a very competitive price which starts at ₹9.78 lakh. It will be directly competing with the mid-SUV leader Hyundai Creta which is the best-selling car in the segment. So, let’s go deep into the comparison and see which one is better among the MG Astor Vs Hyundai Creta.
MG Astor Vs Hyundai Creta: Which of the two SUVs perform better?
There are two engine options available with MG Astor while Hyundai offers three engine options with Creta.
You ger a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine option with the Astor. It is capable of producing 144Nm of torque and 110hp of power. The other one is a 1.3-liter 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine capable of producing 140hp of power and torque of 220Nm. The latter one can be combined with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission while the lower-spec engine can be combined with a 5-speed manual or 8-step CVT automatic transmission.
On the other hand, Hyundai offers a 1.5-liter U2 CRDi diesel engine that can be mated with a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission capable of producing 115hp of power and torque of 250Nm. The other two engine options are a 1.5-liter MPi petrol engine which can be mated to a 6-speed IMT or manual transmission capable of producing 144Nm of torque and power of 115hp and a 1.4-liter Kappa Turbo GDi petrol engine that can be mated with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. It can produce a max torque of 242Nm and power of 138hp.
Hyundai is offering a wider range of engine options among diesel and petrol both so buyers interested in diesel engines might not look into Astor.
