Honda still offers a diesel option while Maruti Suzuki has ditched them since the dawn of BS6. In the petrol variants, both the cars offer similar performance but the Dzire takes the lead with the mileage known to be one of the best in the country. Honda engines are known for refinement, Maruti Suzuki’s engines aren’t less either. 

You do get a diesel engine option in the Honda Amaze that is much more powerful and produces way more torque than the petrol counterpart. It also offers a better fuel mileage, though still similar to what Dzire offers with the petrol variant. 

The major difference is seen in terms of transmission options. Both the sedans offer 5-speed manual transmission as standard. But, when it comes to automatic ones, the 2021 Honda Amaze offers you a CVT while Dzire has got an AMT. AMT has no flaws at all, especially the ones from Maruti are pretty good. While the base model for 2021 Honda Amaze petrol starts at a price of ₹6,32,000, you will have to spend ₹5,98,000 for the base variant of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. The automatic Amaze petrol will cost ₹9,05,000. If you wish to go for AMT in Dzire, you will have to spend ₹7,54,000 for the same. You also get the diesel option in Amaze which will cost you ₹8,66,500 for the base variant and ₹11,15,000 for the CVT variant. 2021 Honda Amaze is a costly affair when compared with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
