Honda has launched its highly anticipated Honda CB200X based on the Hornet 2.0. So, we’ll look at what are some of the changes between these and what similarities are there as well.
What can we expect in terms of performance from the Honda CB200X?
The new Honda CB200X is powered by a single-cylinder engine of 184.4cc. It doesn’t relate to the 200 number that is there in the name. It features an air-cooled two-valve engine producing 17.3hp and 16.1Nm torque inspired by the Hornet 2.0. The bike comes with a five-speed gearbox. It is expected to be as smooth and light as Hornet 2.0.
What does the Honda CB200X offer in terms of functionality?
The knuckle guards perfectly carry the turn indicators mounted onto them. Honda CB200X features all-LED lighting which is a standard nowadays. If we talk about design, it looks similar to the CB500X, so it has a belly pan and a big windscreen as well and features split seats. The rider can adjust the LCD display to up to 5 levels of brightness. The bike also has a battery voltage meter, two trip meters, and a gear-position indicator.
Let’s talk about Brakes and Suspension
The all-new CB200X comes with a mono-shock and USD fork for suspension just like the Hornet 2.0. It comes with a single-channel ABS with wavy disc brakes. The tires look like block patterns and are 17-inch alloy wheels at the front and back both.
Moving on to the Dimensions
The bike weighs 147 kg and is 5 kg heavier than the Hornet 2.0. The fuel tank can carry 12-liters of fuel in it. Seat height remains at 810 mm while ground clearance is reported at 167 mm all of which is similar to Hornet 2.0.
Honda is offering the CB200X in three color options: Sports Red, Matte Selene Silver Metallic, and Pearl Nightstar Black.
Is the price competitive enough?
Even if the bike is based on Hornet 2.0, the pricing is ₹14,000/- more than it, i.e. ₹1.44 Lakhs. The difference among the pricing of these two bikes is major because of the design changes as the functionality and mechanically the bike is mostly the same as Hornet 2.0. Honda CB200X comes with a 3-year warranty while an optional 3-year warranty extension choice is there as well.
The Hero Xpulse 200 costs ₹1.21 Lakhs and is surely a neck-to-neck competitor in terms of performance and off-road capability and is priced much lower than CB200X.
