With the advent of the sub-compact SUV segment since the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in 2016, the segment has seen many launches from various companies. And now when the first half of the year 2021 is completed, we take a look at the half-yearly sales report of the segment. Surprisingly, India’s first safest car, the Tata Nexon has beaten the Kia Sonet. Brezza remains on the top while Hyundai Venue remains behind it with a few numbers shy. Let’s take a look at the detailed sales report for the sub-compact SUV segment for the first of 2021.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza: The Wicked Leader!

As it is clear, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is the only car in the segment to have a monthly average of over 10,000 sales. Venue and Brezza had a duel for the top position with Brezza having won 3 times and Venue winning 2 times. Kia Sonet was able to top the sales in the month of May 2021. But, Nexon has taken the 3rd position from Sonet as the latter was a few units shy. 

Mahindra XUV300 and Ford Ecosport: The Struggle Is Real

The average monthly sales for the safest car in India was 3,231 units. XUV300 scored an impressive 5-star rating at the Global NCAP for adult occupancy and 4 stars for child occupancy. The American SUV, Ecosport saw an average of 3,126 units.
