Skoda has finally set a date for the launch of one ‘One True King’, the Kushaq. You can start booking Skoda Kushaq from 28th June 2021 onwards. Prices and other details will also be revealed on the same day at 11 AM. Till then, let’s take a look at what we know so far about the Kushaq.
Skoda Kushaq: Engine and Transmission Options
Unlike its rivals, Kushaq will only be getting 2 turbo-petrol engine options. A 1.0-litre TSI capable of producing 115hp of power and a peak torque of 175Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre TSI churning out 150hp of power and a peak torque of 250Nm. You will get a 6-speed manual transmission as standard with both engines. The smaller one will get a 6-speed torque converter while the 1.5-litre one gets a 7-speed DSG.
What all can be expected in terms of features?
Skoda has loaded the Kushaq with a plethora of features. You will be getting a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, sunroof, in-car WiFi, all-digital instrument cluster, steering mounted audio and call controls and much more. The dashboard of the Kushaq looks premium and with the two-spoke steering wheel, you can simply feel the essence of the premium Skoda is coming up with.
As for the safety features, you will be getting 6 airbags, a multi-collision braking system, TPMS, auto headlamps, ABS with EBD and hill-start assist. ESC or Electronic Stability Control will be standard across all variants.
Skoda Kushaq: Variants, Rivals and Price
Kushaq is going to be offered in 3 variants: Active, Ambition and Style. A top-spec Monte Carlo variant will be introduced later.
Kushaq will be locking horns with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.
