Maruti’s upcoming electric vehicle, the EVX, was tested on Indian roads. Maruti Suzuki is the sole Indian car manufacturer that, to date, doesn’t have any electric cars in its India portfolio. However, things are about to change for good as the homegrown brand is finally ready to unveil its first-ever fully electric SUV, the Maruti Suzuki EVX.
- The name EVX actually stands for emotional versatile cruiser, developed and designed by Suzuki Motor Corporation. Its electric platform is built from the ground up, as it will also serve as the foundation of Maruti’s future electric line-up for India.
- Moreover, Maruti Suzuki has also invested somewhere around Rs 100 million for the production of this platform and the batteries which will support these electric vehicles.
- By the looks of it, We are pretty sure that it will resemble the likes of the recently launched Fronx as it measures about 4,300 mm in length, 1,800mm in width and about 1,600mm in height.
- It is also being speculated that the Maruti Suzuki EVX will offer a dynamic range of about 400-500 kilometres on a single charge.
- It is expected that with its launch, it will directly lock horns with the Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Harrier EV, as both cars are scheduled to launch by early 2025.
- Talking about the price range, It is being said or rather speculated that this tall boy SUV could be priced within the Rs 20 lakh range, making it a rather super competitive option in the electric SUV segment.
- With its promising specifications and first-segment features, it is expected to have a significant impact on the electric vehicle segment in India. Maruti is also aiming towards conditioning the EVX to meet all the market-specific requirements and weather conditions.
- The final production of the Maruti Suzuki EVX will take place at the brand’s Gujarat plant, thus making a significant impact on Maruti’s entry into the electric vehicle segment.
