In less than 10 days, Maruti Suzuki has recalled yet another batch of cars, this time, it’s the premium SUV, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Earlier, approximately 18,000 cars such as the Alto K10, S-Presso, Brezza, Eeco, Baleno, and Grand Vitara on the account of a possible airbag-controller defect. This time, there is a possible defect in the rear seat belt mounting brackets.
Here are the key details about the recall of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara:
- The affected units have been manufactured between 8 August 2022 and 15 November 2022.
- The affected Vitara Brezza units will be inspected and the parts will be replaced free of cost.
- If your Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is affected, you will be contacted by your dealer.
- The company states that the faulty bracket may loosen in the long run if not replaced.
If you are reached by your dealer, don’t delay the inspection and replacement.
But, it raises a vital question, is Maruti Suzuki facing issues because of the high demand?

- 17,000 units of Grand Vitara, Alto K10, S Presso, Eeco, Brezza, and Baleno were recalled due to airbag control unit issues.
- In December last year, over 9,000 units of the Grand Vitara, XL6, Ertiga, and Ciaz were recalled due to a defect in the front seatbelt’s shoulder height adjuster assembly.
The company states that the shortage of electronic components did impact the production of vehicles. This must have put pressure on the production capacity and affected the delivery schedule.
