Maruti Suzuki has launched the CNG version of their latest edition Celerio 2022. Celerio, being a fun-to-drive-city car, has been loved in its petrol edition, the numbers reveal. And with the addition of a CNG variant, the sales are going to get a bump. After this addition, Celerio will be taking on the Tata Tiago CNG which is going to launch tomorrow, i.e. 19th January 2022. Before that, let’s take a look at why should you go for the Maruti Suzuki CNG?

  1. Kitna Deti Hai? Sabse Zyada!

When Maruti Suzuki launched the petrol variant of the Celerio 2022, it already had the upper hand over all the other cars in terms of fuel mileage. The petrol Celerio offers a mileage of over 26.68kmpl when paired with the AGS transmission. Now, with the CNG being added to the equation, Maruti Suzuki Celerio has a mileage of 35.6km/kg, the highest in the CNG segment.

  2. Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG has optimum power

The K10 series petrol engine churns out 66ps of power and 89Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki Celerio with CNG has a power output of 56ps and a peak torque of 82Nm. Even though it is less than the ICE counterpart, it is optimum for a car of this size that is meant to be driven on a daily basis within the city bounds. Even on the highways, this will feel enough. The only problem here is that the Maruti Suzuki Celerio is going to get a manual transmission only!

  3. Trust of Maruti Suzuki’s service network

Maruti Suzuki has 8 CNG products in its arena now. This makes it the only carmaker to offer such a wide range of green initiative products. With the factory-fitted S-CNG, customers can enjoy the warranty benefits and service across the widespread service network of Maruti Suzuki.

  4. Comes with optimum safety features

Even though we don’t have the Global NCAP ratings for Celerio, it is safe to say that Maruti Suzuki has surely advanced in terms of providing safety. You will get dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seat-belt reminder system, speed alert system, speed-sensing auto door lock, and impact sensing auto door unlock with the VXi variant, the only variant to offer CNG as an option. Do note that we are not defending Maruti Suzuki here, but when I say, optimum, it means complying with requirements as per government protocols.

  5. Maruti Suzuki CNG Price

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Celerio CNG at a price of Rs. 6.58 lakhs (Ex-showroom). Do note that you’ll get the CNG option with the VXi variant only. The petrol VXi manual transmission variant costs Rs. 1,08,000 less than the CNG variant. We’ll have to wait for the Tata Tiago CNG to launch and then we can comment on the price though. What are your thoughts? Do you think the price is fair enough or will you wait for the Tata Tiago CNG?

And that’s all about the Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG. Stay tuned as we’ll be bringing you a comprehensive comparison between Celerio CNG and the upcoming Tata Tiago CNG.
