Tata Motors has shown significant growth in the passenger cars segment, while ending the gone year in 2nd position, beating the Korean auto giant, Hyundai. A company that had to shelve many of its projects a few years back due to low numbers, is now on the road to becoming India’s largest manufacturer, though the road is long ahead. Let’s take a look at the car sales report for Tata Motors for the year 2021.

Tata Nexon has crossed one lakh sales in a year for the first time and is also the highest-grossing model for the company. Altroz also saw a significant growth of almost 41%. Tata Tiago has been one of the best-selling hatchbacks in the segment and comes at third place in the total sales report for Tata Motors.

The newly launched Tata Punch has showcased good numbers with people showing great interest in India’s safest car (According to Global NCAP).

Tata plans to strengthen its EV portfolio in the coming years with models as Tata Sierra EV planned ahead. Tata Tiago CNG is also going to launch on 19th January, which will be the company’s first venture in the CNG segment in the BS6 era. This will surely boost the sales numbers, even more, giving a tough competition to the rivals.

Tata Motors has been evidently ensuring the safety of the Indians by producing the safest cars in the respective segments. Nexon, Punch, and Altroz have scored a 5-star rating at the Global NCAP crash testing. Tata Tiago and Tigor have been able to score a 4-star rating at the same, making them the safest cars in their respective segments. This seems to have worked in favor of Tata as the Indian consumer has started shifting towards safety. Also, Tata Motors has been constantly improving in terms of the network of sales and services, while catering to customer feedback.
