Tata Nexon EV: Things We Know So Far

A new variant of Tata Nexon EV is in the works as per a leaked circular by the transport department and might have 100 kW (136hp) of power. The current Nexon EV has a power of 245 Nm and 129hp. The new Nexon will have 7hp extra power over it. But the new variant features the same 30.2 kWh as the previous model. So, we can expect the new variant to give out the range of 312km on a single charge with ARAI certification. The time required to charge the vehicle with a DC charge of up to 80% in one hour is expected to be the same.

The document also stated that this new high-powered option will be available in all 3 trims i.e. XM, XZ+, and XZ+ LUX. But it is unknown whether the new variant will cost more than the previous models or not. If it does cost more, the affordability of the vehicle will take a hit.

Tata’s Future Plans

The new Tigor EV is also launching on 31st August 2021 while the new Nexon EV will also be launching in some time. New Tigor EV will be focused on private buyers. It will also feature Tata’s Ziptron high-voltage 300V+ architecture. It will produce 170 Nm of torque and 75hp power. An 8 years/1,60,000km warranty will also be there.
